Widening Lateral Grooves
Wet braking performance is improved by optimising the lateral shoulder grooves, which secure voids when braking or under heavy loads, thereby expanding the contact patch. In addition, the tie-bars applied to the shoulder blocks create a closed structure that reduces noise in regular driving conditions.
Superior Transverse Drainage
The high-performance drainage design controls block deformation to improve contact with the road. Safer wet road driving is achieved by minimising the tyre contact gaps caused by concave deformation for 7% improved wet braking and 4% improved wet handling over the previous model.
